It's the little things in life in which I find joy. A bag full of badminton birdies at our local thrift store? Sign me up. I don't play badminton, but I couldn't walk away from these beauties. Situations like this always act as a reminder that I'm a little weird. Thankfully, the whole 'artist' thing is a great excuse. They're so pretty! Anyone else out there who would've bought a bag full of birdies for 50 cents? Fess up!

Badminton Bullet Points:
*I've been driving around with badminton rackets in my car for a month.
*Last year I made a net out of vintage doilies.
*I NEED birdies to play a game. I would've paid far more than 50 cents for them.
More bullet points:
*Sounds like you and Wolfie and the Sneak need to meet up!
*A net out of vintage doilies? YES!
*Badminton is a great game--perfect for kids and adults lacking a little bit of speed/coordination (like me)...

definitely. 50c might as well be free. and those colors are so good. they remind me of the vintage straws you got a while back! maybe they're from the same afternoon party years ago!
What a beautiful score! I can't wait to see what you do with them.
I am very guilty of buying random thrift store items that are totally unnecessary! The truth is, how ever weird they may seem, they always come in handy! I just picked up 70s curtains with cute 3-d trim that i'm going to transform into something else for 69 cents!
I would want them but would be scared my boyfriend would give the are-you-bringing-more (allegedly useless) items-into-our-home look.
I think they'd make a great mobile cause they would float nicely. They make me think of multicolour jellyfish.
Yes, I would have happily run to the check out, too! And then I'd be on the look out for badminton rackets to paint all those wonderful colors!
And I don't play either!!
Nice to be in good company!

I would have bought them. But then, I love badminton. It's a great fun game that you don't necessarily need much skill to be good at. You guys could easily put up a net!
Badminton birdies bring back so many wonderful childhood memories for me. Just seeing your photos alone made my day. Thanks so much for this awesome post. :-)
Totally would have and coincidentally, there is a birdie that suddenly showed up here and all the kids are playing with it. It was very random. Our's isn't as pretty as yours are though.
These really made my day! So happy and bright! :)
of course. and, added bonus, they look like daleks.
The badminton birdies are gorgeous. Yes, like you I'm grateful that I have the artist "excuse" to collect weird things.
i would have scooped those up too! those colors are so cheery & pretty!
hells yes!!!
These are SO awesome! I spy an outdoor chandelier in your future.
yes, i would've bought those in a flash! gorgeous.
Yup, the artist thing let's us get away with a lot. I couldn't pass them up for 50 cents either - how cute would those be in a jar on a shelf in a kids room? Or the studio??! And I like minouette's mobile idea too...
I dunno if I'd actually buy them, because, by nature, i'm someone who has a difficult time organizing/ storing/ creating order in general. I make exceptions for important things books and dvds/bluRays...
that said, the lil' birdies just beg to be played with. the fact that there's a weighted is so cool. toss it up, it winds up on the lil' round end. fabulous.

Looks like a future chandelier to me!
i'll admit that i would have picked them up, carried them around the store, and then set them down when i thought of what my husband would say. i need to work through the materials i have already before bringing more stuff home. :)
can't wait to see how you use them
absolutely, i would have too!
